Riding e-Bikes encourages people to new ways of thinking

The Bike4Car national campaign has resulted in a measurable effect on the participants, leading them to use their cars less. What is more, a majority of the survey participants have already purchased an e-Bike or are planning to do so.

A survey of the participants at the Bike4Car campaign found that the use of e-Bikes has had a measurable effect on the survey participants – which still continues a year after the campaign.

The survey was carried out as part of the National Research Programme "Managing Energy Consumption" (NRP 71) of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), and in cooperation with the SCCER CREST – Competence Center for Research in Energy, Society and Transition promoted by the Commission for Technology and Innovation KTI, and the climate protection movement myblueplanet. Besides the ZHAW, the University of St. Gallen also took part in the research. Across Switzerland 1854 people took part in the Bike4Car campaign in 2015.
